“Thank-you Christmas Present Poem”

Dear aunt,
Oh, what a nice ashtray
And what a good idea, although
I don’t smoke…
But don’t you mind, I’ll use it as…
decoration!
The pink ashtray suits my
black table!
How clever of you!

A sweater in summer, how
thoughtful of you!
Yellow like the sun,
it illuminates my life.
I’m so happy I can’t even
express how glad I am.
I can already imagine myself
dressed all in shiny…yellow.
If only I could wear it day and night!
