Visita del Dr. Jason Beech
Last Friday September 7th. Dr Jason Beech came to our school once more, to give a talk to the students of CAE and Proficiency. Dr Beech is the Director of Escuela de Educación at Universidad de San Andrés. He is also a teacher of Sociology of Education and Comparative Education in the same university. He is a researcher at CONICET. He has published many articles for specialised journals and is co-editor of Revista Política Educativa. He has written chapters in books in different countries and his main concern of investigation is the relationship between education and social cohesion.
The topic of his talk was "Learning to live with others in a globalized world". Dr Beech reflected on the way the world is divided according to who rules it and pointed out the importance of learning to feel empathy towards others; others being all the human beings who live on this planet.
Some of the students took part and commented on or asked questions about a few aspects of the talk.
It was a very thought-provoking afternoon and it´s our wish that students not only enjoyed it but also learnt something that will help them to build a better world.
